Sugarland's Highlandar

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Beige
AOA# 35490371DOB: 6/9/20187 yrs
Genotype: Ee Classic Grey!!! Who would have thought that Highlandar is a grey in hiding! I love doing these color tests as they open up a whole new range of options! If you are looking to diversify and upgrade your herds genetics, Highlandar is the perfect stud. Highlandar is just about as perfect as they come and has the most mellow personality! Highlandar’s lineage is phenomenal! On the sire side is Snowmass Matrix Belvedere, Snowmass Matrix, 6Peruvina Accoyo Elite, and 4Peruvian Legacy. On the dam side is The Elite Maximus, Accoyo America Marathon, and Peruvian Hemingway. Highlandar has done well in the showring with a Color Champ in 2019 and in the Iowa Fall 2020 shows coming in a very close 2nd to the 2020 National Supreme Color Champ. Judges loved his conformation, density, high frequency bundling crimp, and consistency throughout his fleece. Highlandar just earned another blue ribbon at the Illinois 2021 show in Walking Fleece! August 2021: Highlandar has 3 crias on the ground! The first boy looks like a mini-Highlandar...tight curly crimp from head to toe just like his sire and rock solid conformation! The 2nd cria is a medium fawn girl...which means Highlandar can throw color. The dam has 100% white background so the color stems from Highlandar's lineage (Snowmass Matrix). The 3rd cria is a white boy with super fine, dense, crimpy fiber! 2019 Histogram: Micron: 17.5 | SD: 3.9 | CV: 22.0% Confirmed BVDV negative.

Service Sire: Snowmass Simply Smokin

Genotype EE a2a3

Snowmass Simply Smokin

HuacayaHerdsire (Male)Dark Silver Grey
AOA# 36226948DOB: 10/22/20222 yrs
Genotype EE a2a3 ... WOW, the color options this boy can produce are amazing! No dilution. He can breed any girl from white to black and everything in between! He will not produce white/beige offspring and can produce black offspring and will always pass along at least 1 black gene to his crias. Smokin's dam was a champion fawn female and her line has produced a number of Snowmass herd sires. Looking for dark crias...Smokin' is your guy!

Description

Highlandar does it again! Adding color, loads of crimp, and gentle personality!! Holly is such a sweet, easy to handle girl. Beautiful light fawn/beige crimpy fiber! Holly loves to have a halter put on because she knows she gets to go meet people and go for a ride in the van! 3 first place ribbons at her first show at 8 months old!! The judges loved how consistent her fiber was from shoulder to hip and how her crimp was consistent from base to tip! Her staple length was another wow-factor! Holly had longer staple length than the 2nd place alpaca who had 3 additional months of growth. The judges also liked her size and capacity for her age and her brightness in the fleece. Not a bad first show!!
