Update: Primus is a grey maker! He has made grey even with brown and bay black girls without the grey parents. He has also made gorgeous blacks. One just born from a bay black girl looks just like him. He was born on August 1st 2024. Color Champion at 41.5 mths!! Judges have really liked him but CC has been going to the much younger animals. The fact that he is still so soft with consistency and long staple AS A BREEDER along with perfect conformation was appreciated! See his stats. only 2.6 micron difference between min and max micron!!! Primus has a very buttery handle to his fleece due to the consistency of his fine fiber and density. His yarn is incredibly soft-like a white cria fleece! His sire BMF Taos Zepplin is known for putting out blacks. He was the 2013 AOBA Black Male Fleece Champion. His histogram stats are very impressive starting with a 15.7 AFD and a 2.8 S.D. on his first fleece and at 5 yrs old still had a 20.4 micron and a CV of 19.9. I fell in love with PHA Peruvian Taos (his sire) when he was here in Wisconsin. Judge stated at the recent MOPACA show that he was a very close second and was very impressed with his long, healthy fleece that hand an excellent handle, something not often seen in greys to that extent. He has been showing as a 40 mth old this year and has had very limited competition yet had super nice comments from the judges that included "I doubt that there is a more robust male out there", "very little difference in micron throughout fleece", "perfect phenotype", "extreme staple especially given his age". Primus' first offspring is a black male from a black female. Super fine, dense fleece! Primus is going back to Nationals in 2020. He'll be 4 yrs and 4 mths old (52 mths) but I honestly can't see that his fleece has changed in the last 2 yrs! We have bred him a couple times for 2020 cria. We should have entered him in the mature males. Thought his retained fineness and no guard hairs would impress the judge, they did but she didn't take into account his being 1 1/2 yrs older than the others. Walking fleece he took 3rd! He is such a sweet, easy to handle guy.

Half Accoyo in Black! Sable is the name sake of one of our older girls, JJA Sweet Sable who left this earth just 2 weeks prior to this girls birth. Sable is sable in color and just as soft. Very nice high frequency crimp, super uniform and dense. This girl is very robust and square. Extreme density and long staple. Fine fleece but no stats. Just know after 20 + years of shows and processing fiber. No white contamination. I plan to breed Sable to either Primus or Jordy. Primus always makes awesome greys and blacks while Jordy has 3 offspring-a white, black, and grey all the dams colors! Jordy is a fawn out of TB Amelia and MSG Smoky Joe (a Tsunami cria from our champion Jana Rose). As you can see, I went with Primus for this girl as we had her paternal sister Sheba bred to Primus and they made Sheba's Shaboozey who is an astonishingly gorgeous grey guy. This will be one exciting cria to look forward too! No breeding included in this price just her bred as is. Must be moved 2 mths prior to do date at latest.

Description

Caisson will be available for sale after weaned in winter 2026 or possibly sold with dam. His dam got pregnant on her first try and birthed in textbook fashion though very memorable as her labor wasn't noticed before heading out to back pastures where I found her (I had been gone all night and had told those who would be around in the morning to check her as she was very uncomfortable the day before. It was a very cold morning and windy so he needed to get to the barn for blow drying but she was torn between staying with her herd (and passing placenta) or following us carrying the wet wiggly thing that freaked her out. It took an hour to get her and him together in the barn. Made it just before a large tour group came. He was going to be named Chaos because of that morning. However, he is built like a brick s**t house and Caisson came to mind-military wagon on wheels. He has two of our best lines between his dam being a Seismic offspring (Black Jag is grandsire) and Sire being our big msg Primus. This guy can probably make grey and black cria all day long when his time comes. So far we're seeing nice crimp with a very soft handle. His maternal granddam is a white who, like all her white female relatives, puts out the black or brown when bred to a dark. She's never made white but certainly puts out one of my favorite fleeces on her offspring. Shiny, long staple with amazing crimp.
