If you are looking to add grey to your breeding program he is an excellent producer of grey. He has produced grey 83% of time when bred to grey and 52% of the time when bred to non grey. Prince has been our top male for 3 years and has criated some amazing greys and black crias including 1 stunning modern grey male. Of his 32 crias 25 are either grey or black. 10 grey males 9 grey females 3 black males 3 black females. When bred to grey Prince produced 6 greys and 1 non grey When bred to any colour other than grey, Prince produced 13 greys, 6 blacks and 6 non greys His offspring are carrying on the grey and black. Three grey daughters all bred to the same grey male resulted in 2 grey crias and 1 true black cria. Prince is a stunning silver grey male with a thick black band around his middle. His fibre has crimp and shine, we have created some beautiful shawls from his fibre. He has great conformation, even temperament which has been passed on to his crias. Kit Kat is a beautiful dark steel grey with white face and white boots. Her first cria was a stunning med. silver grey female - Princess Emily , sired by Prince, with beautiful blue eyes. Her 2019 cria was also stunning, a male cria - The Earl of Grey, med silver grey and sired by Prince. Kit Kat is consistent, for 2020 she produced another dark silver grey female - Kopy Kat - she looks very much like her mom. Kit Kat & Prince have criated 3 stunning greys all with great fibre, so we paired them up again for a 2021 cria. Well, what a surprise this cria is, born brown with wisps of grey around the mouth, toes and tail, checked under the brown tips a few weeks later and he is a beautiful smokey grey, not as dark as his mom but beautiful crimpy fibre. Our first modern grey - Bakwene ! 2022's cria is yet another beautiful steel grey, very much like his mom so we named him Karbon Kopy. Wow every cria seems better than the one before. 2023 produced a beautiful grey with a black saddle, Lady Grantham, the black coming from her grandsire, Prince. In 2024 Kit Kat and Jupiter did it again, another beautiful light silver grey female with mom's blue eyes, we named her Amelia. Amelia quickly became the favourite of the year, very gentle and loves visitors. Kit Kat is still criating greys and blue eyes - our second modern silver grey alpaca is another male! (still to be named) Amazingly all 8 of Kit Kat's crias have been grey.

Bakwene – his name suits him perfectly, meaning Smokey Grey in Ojibwe. When he was first born, Bakwene appeared to be a medium brown boy with just a faint touch of grey around his mouth, tail, and toes—so subtle you had to look closely to see it. But a few weeks later, during his early halter training, we took another good look at his fibre and discovered something incredible: a gorgeous smokey grey, just a shade lighter than his mom, Kit Kat. To our delight, Bakwene became our very first modern grey! As a cria, Bakwene was shy and preferred to stay close to his mom whenever people were around. Since being weaned, however, he has blossomed into a calm, curious alpaca who enjoys visits and is easy to handle. Bakwene began his breeding career in the summer of 2023. His very first offspring included: Emanon, a dark brown male out of bay black Kameo. Truly Scrumptious, a bay black female out of true black Truly Cute. By 2025, Bakwene had an outstanding year as a sire, producing two striking modern silver grey males—Cessna and Wee Scotch. Once they are sheared in the spring, their stunning grey fibre will be on full display. He also sired Daisy, a dark rose grey female, and another beautiful dark brown female yet to be named. Bakwene has truly lived up to his name, carrying on the smokey grey legacy in the most beautiful way.
